This year’s homeownership fair was a resounding success! With over 800 people registered, Dallas Habitat was able to educate and impact more people this year than ever before. This annual event provides information and actionable steps to first-time home buyers and resources to get you started down your journey of homeownership. If you missed the event, don’t worry. All of the classes are live and available to watch below.
In 2020, Dallas Habitat brought this exciting event to your fingertips by hosting it online. Introducing Homeownership: From Virtual Dream to Reality , our first-ever online homeownership fair!
Featuring special guest: Lady Jade of K104 FM
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Jade began working professionally at an extremely early age as a model and actress, continuing in the entertainment industry in college as an intern and then an on-air weekend personality.
After graduating, Jade returned to Dallas and began her dream career at K104 FM. After working nights, she hosted her own night show which is where she was given the name “Lady Jade.” After working nights for two years, she was asked to join the K104 Morning Show, which she has co-hosted for the last 13 years. The K104 Morning Show is now nationally syndicated in over 30 markets around the country and heard by millions of listeners.
With a passion for giving back, Jade foundered Project 16; her 501c3 non-profit organization geared towards helping less-advantaged youth, giving them opportunities to learn and grow.
Keynote: PASTOR BRYAN L. CARTER
Since 2003, Pastor Carter leads our 9,000 member congregation and serves on several boards and coalitions with other leaders.
Bryan Carter serves as the Senior Pastor of Concord Church, 9,000 member congregation in southern Dallas. He is also committed to serving our community and the city of Dallas, and is currently serving on the boards of Frost Bank Dallas Advisory Board, Impact Dallas Capital, Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) International and the Dallas Police Department Community Advisory Board.
He leads Harmony Community Development Corporation, an organization committed to improving the community of southern Dallas through building stronger families and economic development. He also leads the African American Pastors Coalition, a fellowship of over sixty churches committed to serving and addressing key needs in the Dallas community. His past board service includes the Dallas Mayor’s Taskforce Against Domestic Violence, Dallas Habitat for Humanity, and Dallas ISD Education Foundation. He is also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Pastor Carter also serves as a co-presenter for 33 The Series, a curriculum on authentic manhood published by Lifeway, and a presenter for The Art of Marriage, a curriculum published by Family Life Ministries.
Bryan is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a focus in Science and Math and a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a specialization in Family Ministry. He also is a recipient of an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Dallas Baptist University. Bryan is married to his college sweetheart, Stephanie, has two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kennedy, and has one son, Carson.

Breakout Session 2: Learn Your Loan Lingo | Panel of Dallas Habitat Preferred Lenders
For many, “mortgage” is a scary word – but it doesn’t need to be! In this session, members of our Preferred Lender Network join us to discuss basic mortgage terminology, the steps in the loan application and approval process, and questions that every first time buyer should ask their Loan Officer.

For this session, we invite members of our Preferred Realtor Network to share their top tips for building out a home buying team that will help you realize your dream of homeownership!
