Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Jade began working professionally at an extremely early age as a model and actress, continuing in the entertainment industry in college as an intern and then an on-air weekend personality.
After graduating, Jade returned to Dallas and began her dream career at K104 FM. After working nights, she hosted her own night show which is where she was given the name “Lady Jade.” After working nights for two years, she was asked to join the K104 Morning Show, which she has co-hosted for the last 13 years. The K104 Morning Show is now nationally syndicated in over 30 markets around the country and heard by millions of listeners.

Founder of The Broke Black Girl
The Broke Black Girl was created by St. Louis native, Dasha Kennedy, a speaker, author and international budget coach. What has birthed from her personal financial hardships evolved into the key to financial freedom for black women across the world. The Broke Black Girl is an online platform that connects, educates and empowers minority women to financial and mental wellness. The Broke Black Girl provides a safe and supportive space for women to openly discuss their financial hardships and seek free assistance from the professionals in the group, such as myself, with credit restoration, budgeting, money and time management, wealth building and mental wellness. The platform has exceeded 60,000 women within one year, reaching women in 38 states and 96 countries.
Kennedy encourages women to have several sources of income, which has set off a chain reaction and many of the women are seeking entrepreneurship. Kennedy believes the tools obtained from The Broke Black Girl and strategic partners will fully equip the aspiring “Girlpreneurs” with the tools needed to successfully operate a profitable business.

Journalist at WFAA News 8
Tashara Parker is an Emmy award-winning journalist at WFAA News 8 in Dallas, Texas. Featured as one of WFAA’s preeminent voices, the anchor brings experience, vibrancy and authenticity — capturing the attention of viewers in an engaging and informative way, all the while creating loyalty and social impact.
Coined as a “community-focused storyteller”, Tashara is the go-to source for highlighting organizations and individuals who have historically been underrepresented and misrepresented in mainstream media. As a dedicated visionary and one of Dallas’ most influential voices, Tashara utilizes her platform to volunteer hundreds of hours to many organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
In October 2020, Tashara sparked a global conversation following backlash for a natural bun hairstyle she wore on-air. Praised by viewers, her response achieved virality, igniting a national discussion surrounding natural hair discrimination, and evolving organically with the launch of her “Bun Ministry” movement — a rapidly budding space to celebrate, educate and empower individuals on the journey and love for all things natural hair.
In the spirit of innovation, her acclaimed original series “Rooted” for the ABC network affiliate WFAA, was met with rave reviews for tenaciously tackling the taboo topic of Black hair and professionalism within the workplace. In amplifying this message, Tashara was quickly catapulted as one of the many universal thought leaders tapped for commentary and dialogue on the ever-evolving subject.
Historically recognized as the first black woman to anchor CBS affiliate KYTX’s primetime evening newscasts, the then Tyler, Texas anchor was commended for her coverage of the 2017 Van Zandt County and 2019 Alto tornadoes, in addition to two high-profile executions, of which she wrote and executive produced the majority of the content.
With a dedicated following both on and off the air, the journalist is described by viewers as “someone who truly cares about people and this community”, recently earning her the honor of “Best Broadcast Journalist” by the Dallas Weekly. With this powerful mantra lighting her path, Tashara continues to carve her slate within the industry as not only a journalist, but also as a social innovator — bringing both DFW and the best in community storytelling to the forefront.
