A Message from Dallas Habitat CEO about COVID-19
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic issues are rapidly sweeping across the country and changing how we work and live, at least for the foreseeable future.
Dallas Habitat is continuing to monitor the situation. Though more communications and action are required than “just monitoring” on our part, I wanted to provide an update and current thinking as we move forward.
To our Dallas Habitat family,
As our country pulls together and we continue to monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, please know we are wishing you and your family the very best. We are making efforts to support the needs of our community, employees and Habitat families and I want to provide an update on those efforts and our current thinking as we move forward.
We are focusing our goals and priorities around safety, jobs and our mission. With these three objectives in mind, Habitat has modified many of our traditional business processes to try to collectively mitigate our organizational risks. We want to do everything we can to ensure this happens, honoring our commitment to families, safely and in accordance with CDC guidelines. This includes:

- Advocating for our families. Call your representative and ask Congress to:
- Mortgage payment forbearance
- Issue a national moratorium on foreclosures and evictions
- Extend short-term basic income supplements
- Provide an immediate infusion of $60 billion in capital for nonprofits
- Expand the universal charitable deduction
