Other Ways To Volunteer

Dallas Habitat is about more than just building homes. We have volunteer opportunities for all skill levels, ages, and time commitments. Giving even a few hours of your time helps improve your neighbors lives.

Our ChoreCore program is a biannual volunteer event where volunteers support the communities of Dallas Habitat through lawn and garden service for seniors 60+ or disabled persons living in our service areas. Email us to get your group involved today.

Neighborhood Cleanups

Construction is a messy business, and we at Dallas Habitat strive to be good neighbors where we build. A Neighborhood clean-up is a dirty job, but one that makes an immediate and visible difference in the areas we serve. Volunteers help us to transform not only the lives of our partner families, but also of all the families in our neighborhoods.

Community Service

We offer many opportunities to complete community service hours. We cannot accept volunteers who are completing court-ordered community service hours for the following charges: Theft; Assault/Aggravated; Arson; Weapons; Forgery. Volunteers can earn community service hours at any of our 4 area ReStores. Volunteers assist ReStore staff in all aspects of retail operations, including pricing items, setting up/moving displays, assisting customers, cleaning/straightening shelves and display racks, sorting donations, and assisting with inventory control. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old (14- and 15-year-olds welcome with adult supervision, 1 adult for every 5).
