We accept a range of new and gently used home items. Scroll down to see our full list of accepted donations. We offer both free standard pickup and priority pickup through a third party (fees may apply). All donations are tax-deductible.

ReStore Donations

PRIORITY PICK-UP

Note: You are scheduling through ReSupply, a third-party hauling provider. You will be redirected to their website. Fees apply and are set by ReSupply, not Dallas Habitat for Humanity. Looking for free pickup? Scroll down to schedule a standard pickup at no cost.

  • Pickups within 48-72 hours.
  • Items of ANY condition picked up
  • Item retrieval from anywhere, including within the residence or a storage unit.
  • Disassembly of items that need it (except doors, cabinets, or lighting).
  • Dallas Habitat for Humanity donations reflect the operating costs. They are significantly smaller than the typical moving company or junk hauler fee (the fee is not tax-deductible, but donations are).

What Items Does Dallas Habitat ReStore Accept?

We generally accept the following types of new or gently used items. Items must have no rips, tears, stains, pet hair, excessive wear, or be outdated. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list. To discuss your specific donation, please contact us 214-678-2309.

Bath Hardware

Bathtub, jet tub, sink, toilet.

Building Supplies

New granite slab, new pallet of shingles, new sheet rock, custom building supplies.

Cabinets

Bathroom cabinets, kitchen cabinets, kitchen island, custom cabinets.

Doors

Exterior solid door, interior, storm door, custom door.

Electronics

Misc item (large), misc item (small), TV/monitor, custom electronics.

Flooring

Ceramic tile, cove base, mosaic tile, peel n stick, new rugs, wood look tile, custom flooring (minimum 100 sq. ft / 10 boxes or more).

Gardening

Edger, garden tool, grills, hedge trimmer, lawn mower, lawn spreader, lawn tool, leaf blower, patio chair, patio chaise, patio table, rake, riding lawnmower, shovel, weed eater, custom gardening.

Home Décor

Artificial plants, artwork, framed mirror, home décor (small), home décor (large), pictures, custom home décor.

Lighting

Floor lamp, lamp, pendant, sconce, table lamp, custom lighting.

What Items Does Dallas Habitat ReStore Not Accept?

There are some items that we cannot resell, and we do not accept these for donations.

  • Office desk, cubicles, and metal file cabinets
  • Used area rugs
  • Carpet/Flooring remnants
  • Large countertops/Granite slabs
  • Used Christmas trees
  • Brick remnants
  • Paint/Chemicals/Cleaning Product remnants
  • Mattresses/Box Springs
  • Cribs, car seats, highchairs, toys
  • Household items: (pillows, blankets, dishes, curtains, etc.)
  • Personal items (clothing, shoes, purses, etc.)

Corporate Donations

We accept more than office furniture! We love to help corporations clear out their warehouses and graciously welcome the donation of overstocked goods, scratch and dent items, last year’s styles, and any other bulk product goods you may have. Your contributions will greatly assist us in our mission and give you the added bonus of cleared space and great tax benefits.

Residential Donations

Home good donations keep our ReStores running! If you have new or used home goods, furniture, cabinets, appliances, or more reach out! Furniture Donation pick up is free and scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. Give your used home goods a new life and do good in your Dallas community.

All donations are considered gifts-in-kind and are fully tax deductible as allowed by Internal Revenue Code. We will supply you with an itemized receipt. The value of the gift-in-kind donation is declared by the owner at the time of donation.

Where can I donate building materials in Dallas?
Dallas Habitat ReStore accepts cabinets, doors, windows, flooring, and hardware in good condition. Drop off at either Dallas location or schedule a free pickup at 214-678-2309.
Where can I donate light fixtures?

Dallas Habitat ReStore accepts working light fixtures and electrical supplies. Our ReStore donation drop off hours have changed to Monday – Saturday: 10 AM – 3 PM and Sunday: 11 AM – 3 PM

Where can I donate kitchen cabinets?
We accept cabinets in good condition at both Dallas ReStore locations. Items should be accessible and disassembled for pickup.
Where can I donate rugs in Dallas?
Dallas Habitat ReStore accepts New and Unused rugs at both Dallas locations.
Are donations to Dallas Habitat ReStore tax-deductible?
Yes. All donations are considered gifts-in-kind and are fully tax-deductible. We provide an itemized receipt at the time of donation.

We do not accept office furniture, entertainment centers, armoires , China cabinets, kitchen hutches, mattresses, box springs, used area rugs, carpet remnants, paint, chemicals, personal items, clothing, cribs, car seats, large countertops, granite slabs and scrap materials.
Do the ReStores repair donated items and materials?

No, all donated items must be in good condition and full working order. This includes tools, appliances, and furniture. Due to space, cost, and safety concerns, we cannot accept broken or non-working items, used batteries, fluorescent lighting, mattresses, or paint. For items we cannot accept, please contact your local recycling center.

What happens with my donation? Does it go into a home built by Habitat?
Your donated items are not used in Habitat homes. Instead, our ReStores sell donations at a discount to the public. All proceeds from the ReStores support Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity homeownership programs for local families.
