Breaking New Ground: Kynedii's Journey to Homeownership

Resilience and a Deep Love for Growth

Kynedii Kimble’s story is rooted in resilience and a deep love for growth and connection. Born and raised in New Orleans, she spent nearly a decade in Miami pursuing her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling before making Dallas her home.  She’s passionate about travel and enjoys experiencing new cultures through food, clothing, and activities. At the heart of it all, Kynedii is dedicated to helping others embrace their own journey, discover their strengths, and live authentically. Her personal motto says it best: “Embrace the Journey. Discover Your Strength. Be You.”

Searching for Stability in Dallas

Since arriving in Dallas, Kynedii has been balancing career opportunities with her studies in an LPN program while settling into life in Richardson. Although grateful for her apartment, the challenges of infestations, poor maintenance, and the instability of renting have made her eager to find something better.  She is excited to create a safe and stable home of her own, one where simple joys like turning the key in her own front door or soaking in a bathtub can become moments of peace and comfort.

How Dallas Habitat Made Homeownership Possible

Dallas Habitat has been the key to making that dream possible. While she once carried doubts and even faced discouragement from others, she leaned into her faith and the encouragement of her Dallas Habitat counselor, Ms. Cunningham, who cheered her on every step of the way. Through the process, Kynedii discovered not only the path to stable, affordable homeownership but also a supportive community she can count on. “Having a safe space of my own will give me the confidence to block out naysayers and trust the path God has me on,” she shared.
Now settled in her very first home, Kynedii feels both honored and grateful. This moment is more than just homeownership; it represents a milestone for her entire family, as no one before her has owned a home. She looks forward to giving back by volunteering with Habitat and passing on the encouragement she has received.  With faith as her foundation and a strong community beside her, Kynedii is stepping into a new chapter filled with stability, joy, and purpose.

Owning my very first home will be incredibly meaningful, especially since no one in my immediate family has ever had a home of their own.
