Trying to make some room in the garage? Or maybe you’re cleaning out a loved one’s tool shed on their behalf. No matter the reason, if you’ve come into some unwanted tools, consider donating them instead of throwing them out!

Your used tools can make a huge impact on your community when you donate them to Habitat for Humanity Dallas. All of our donations go straight to the ReStore, where the profits from their resale are used to build homes for deserving families right here in Dallas! Tools are always in high demand, so they’re sure to go to a loving home–while we help build a new loving home with the profits!

Tax-Deductible

All of your donations to Habitat for Humanity are also completely tax-deductible. We’ll provide you with a receipt for the stated value upon donation. Because tools are in high demand if you have a considerable collection, this could be a very good financial move!

Free Pick Up

Cleaning out your aunt’s craft shack or your grandpa’s tool shed? Instead of breaking a sweat, contact Habitat for Humanity! We’re happy to haul all of that away for you.

Keep it out of the Landfills

Donating your unwanted tools to Habitat means that you’re keeping them out of the landfill and protecting our environment. It also means that they’ll be upcycled into a new home that has a use for them at an affordable price!

What Type of Tools Can I Donate

We accept all tools that are small enough to be picked up and hauled away. If you have a large commercial workshop, or questions about a particular tool, contact your local ReStore. Generally speaking, we take:

  • Table Saws
  • Miter Saws
  • Planners
  • Welding Equipment
  • Hand Tools
  • Drills
  • Pressure washers
  • Saws
  • Drill bits
  • Power tools
  • Any power or hand tool that’s in good working order and can be hauled away

We do ask that any power tools donated are fully operable. We cannot accept items that are faulty, completely rusted, broken, or otherwise inoperable.

How Do I Donate My Tools to the ReStore?

If you have a few small tools that you’d like to donate, you can just drop them off at your closest ReStore location! We’ll provide you with a receipt for the stated value of the items upon donation. Keep it filed away in a safe place so you can deduct it from your taxes!

If you are donating tools that do not fit in your car or if you are donating a large collection of tools, contact us here to schedule a free pickup. We’re happy to work on your schedule.
