NeighborCare & Repair Program

Dallas Habitat Neighbor Care & Repair Program supports families facing financial barriers in maintaining and improving their homes. Our program connects homeowners with compassionate, skilled Habitat partners and volunteers who provide essential repairs, maintenance, and beautification services. These efforts help sustain homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and create lasting positive change in the community. We believe safe, stable housing is vital to a person’s quality of life and overall health. That’s why we’re here—to help homeowners who need it most, ensuring their homes and neighborhoods remain places where families can enjoy and grow for years to come.

Dallas Habitat’s NeighborCare & Repair Program is here to support homeowners by providing critical home repairs that improve safety, comfort, and overall quality of life. Our goal is to help individuals and families remain in the homes they love, while preserving the strength and affordability of the neighborhoods we serve.

This program offers free or low-cost repairs to eligible homeowners through a simple application process. If you live in one of the neighborhoods where Dallas Habitat builds, you may qualify for assistance.

Home Preservation & Beautification

– Energy efficiency upgrades
– Tree trimming and removal of hazardous vegetation
– General site cleanup
– Landscaping support

To get started, you’ll need to meet some basic requirements. These include:

• Being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Home must be owner-occupied for at least 1 year.
• Must live in our service area
• Must be current on mortgage
• Must have current home insurance policy

You’ll also need to fall within 80% or less of HUD’s Area Median Income (AMI) guidelines. Use the chart below to see where your household fits.
